Do Christians Worship Three Gods?

HEAR, O ISRAEL; THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD MK. 12:29

The idea that Christians worship three gods is totally absurd and unacceptable. In fact, this Trinitarian concept of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit was concocted by the Nicene Council in 325 AD. And suffice it to say that the word Trinity does not appear anywhere in the entire Bible. Of course, the Bible speaks of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as being one (1 John 5:7). Jesus Christ the Messiah himself alluded to the fact the (Jesus) and the Father (God) are one (John 17:11). This however must not be misconstrued, misunderstood, or misinterpreted to mean that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one in PERSON, when the plain truth is that they are one in PURPOSE AND NOT ONE IN PERSON. (Gen. 1:26; Mt. 3:13-17; Lk. 4:18-19; 22:39-42; Jn. 4:34; 5:19-47; 6:38-42; 15:26; 16:7-16; Acts 10:38).

The divine message established in the Holy Scriptures is evidence that True Christians do not worship 3 gods or believe in a TRIUNE GOD. True Christians believe in One God, Jehovah, unto whom all praises and worship are due. (Gen.1:1; Ex.6:3; 11 Chr.6:14; Ps.83:18; Is.12:22; 26:4; 44:8; 46:9; Mk.12:29; Jn.1:18; 1 Cor. 8:6; 1 Tim.2:5; Mt.19:16-17).

It is written in the first and second commandments, Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God. (Ex.20:3-5).

It is quite evident from the above scriptures that the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob is indeed and in fact Sovereign God, whose name alone is Jehovah. (Ps.83:18; Is.46:9; Mk.12:29; Jn.17:1-3).

Jesus Christ himself prayed to and worshipped this same God (Jehovah) of whom we are told is also our Father and our God. (Lk.11:1-4; Jn.20:17; Rev.3:12). In fact, Jesus further revealed, “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth (Jn.4:23-24).

It is important to note here that the True Worshipper is not a religious church going fanatic, but one who is genuinely BORN AGAIN AND BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST BY IMMERSIION. (Jn.3:1-12; Mt.28:19; Acts 2:37-39; 3:12; 8:14-18; 10:44-48; 19:1-6). Note also that Infant Baptism and Water Baptism by way of Sprinkling are unbiblical and paganistic. (Lk.1:22; 3:16-23; Acts 8:25-40; 16:25-34).

Jesus Christ is not God as a Son, but THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD. (Lk.1:26-35; Jn.3:16; 5:25; 20:17; Mt.3:13-17; 16:13-18; 17:1-5; 27:43; 1 Jn.1:1-7; 4:1-3; 5:9-12). Similarly, the Holy Spirit is not God the Holy Spirit but the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost sent by God. (Jn.7:39; 14:26; 16:7-16; Lk.4:18-19; 11:13; Acts 1:4-8; 2:1-21; 5:32; 10:38; Mt.12:31; Eph.4:30; 1Th.5:19). On the other hand, God whose name alone is Jehovah, continues to be the Creator and Father of all spirits. (Ps.83:18; Ge.1:1; Mal2:10; Eph4:6; Heb.12:9; Rev.3:14; 1Cor.11:3).

In retrospect of the whole question of worship, it is important that you do not confuse the honoring of man with the worship of God. For in honoring man, we do so in the flesh, but in worshipping God we do so in the Spirit. (Jn.4:23-24; Rev.7:11-12; 19:9-10; 22:8-9). Evidently, it would be IDOLATROUS for anyone to worship Christ or the Holy Spirit. (Ex.20:1-5; Jn.4:24).

In concluding, it is evident from the Holy Scriptures that True Christians do not worship three gods, but are called upon to worship THE ONE TRUE GOD, JEHOVAH, THOUGH JESUS CHRIST HIS SON, IN THE HOLY SPIRIT. (jn.4:23-24; 14:6; Rom.8:26; Eph.6:18; Phil.3:3; Jude 20,21).

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you. Amen.
